I’m guessing a lot of us has encountered people of older generations saying “back in my days, things were bla bla bla”. Whether it’s in a conversation we have with older family members or on social media posts, it’s probably a thing our generation encounters. Whichever generation you are, this most likely applies to you. Older generations might grind your gears, making you think that they’re glorifying days that have gone by where they are at their prime. The thing is, you are also probably guilty of doing the same thing. “Oh, songs of this year are better than what…

I was born in Medan. It’s a loud and vibrant place. It’s a place where everything seems so near where a 30-minute drive can take you to the edge of the city. It’s also a place of all sorts of ethnicities and cultures. Contrary to popular belief, it’s definitely not an absolute hub of Bataknese people. By that virtue, the food there is really varied and thus is the most important part of my itinerary every time I could visit. Some places are a must-go when I’m there, others are fine if I don’t get the opportunity.

One of the…

I don’t know why but I just want to use this image

This will be a list of all the questions I have regarding men. It will be in no particular cohesion between one question to the next, just whatever pops in my head or whatever question people have that they conveyed through this post. I tried to give a number to it, but I realize it would be too small or too big. This will result in more and more edit if it’s the former. So here we go:

  1. Why do a lot of us still think that the world should be shaped according to a man’s perception?
  2. Why do men…

I do find myself a bit perplexed, really, that when I want to write about the current affairs portion of this page (as so I’ve put in my bio and explained in my first post), it is usually in response to certain events that have struck a nerve inside of me and probably registered a certain amount of worry in me about who I am, about my identity. My first piece on this so-called current affairs topic is when I wrote about my perspective and thoughts on being a Christian in a predominantly Muslim country following the attack on my…

I’ve said it once, and I’ll repeat it: I love cars. I love it a lot. As I’ve said in the Top Gear article, cars are a big thing for me and driving is one of the pleasures in life I’m thanking God I can enjoy. Another thing I enjoy big time is the looks of the car, the design of them. How a car look is really the first impression you got regardless of the performance of the car will be once you drive it. The lines, the curves, hell, even the wheels might matter in how you look…

I’m sure that whether you’re on TikTok or not, you’ve probably heard of that song: Driver’s License by Olivia Rodrigo. Whether it’s a run-of-the-mill pop love song is a matter of taste. Whether she will be a one-hit-wonder is a matter of time and perceptions. What you can’t really deny is its virality. It’s so viral, it’s everywhere. Social media, radio, streaming services, everywhere. The song which was released on January 8th of this year has 276,158,666 plays on Spotify by the time I started writing this (February 3rd). …

In a country, there is a city, where there is a museum, and there is a statue on the museum grounds. The statue and museum are dedicated to a man who was born in the city. This man might be a hero to some, yet a villain to others. The country is Georgia, a former Soviet republic located in the Caucasus region between Eastern Europe and West Asia. The city is Gori, a city mid-east located 86 kilometers west of the capital Tbilisi. The museum is located in the city’s central square and consists of three parts: the museum which…

Fantasy sports is one of the ways people go and enjoy the game besides watching the game itself. I, for example, am a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player. Besides that, I’ve also dabbled in some Fantasy UEFA Champions League, Fantasy Bundesliga, and even Fantasy Formula 1. I’ve been playing FPL probably since the 2015/2016 or the 2016/2017 season. It’s not what you call a veteran considering there are a lot of people that have been playing even before FPL has their own app. …

I love cars. Ever since I was a kid watching the road through the backseat window and until I got behind the steering wheel myself, I always like watching cars on the road. I now also like driving them, although I mostly drive our family car. I’d like to think that my love for cars started in the days where the PS2 or PS3 (or the Xbox, whatever) was the staple need in a boy’s house. I’m crediting the Need for Speed series and the Gran Turismo series as my top influences that got me crazy on cars. …

We can all agree that music plays a big part in our lives. Looking at friends’ Spotify Wrapped 2020 (sorry other service users), I saw that there has been a lot of minutes poured towards listening to all sorts of music. Does the current pandemic condition attribute to such stats? Probably. People are doing work and school from home, making music one of the key background aspect of daily life. Some of you might be even listening to something while reading this. As I’m writing this, I’m blasting Christmas songs, hoping it will get me productive enough to write.

Musicians…
